BODHISATTVA PRECEPTS Lectures
Along with zazen, observing the Buddhist precepts is an important part of Zen practice.
The precepts are guidelines to help us go beyond the dualistic mind that is always
comparing and judging, and consequently, dissatisfied. The precepts are a way to
help us realize that our life and death itself is nirvana. Taking the precepts is
also an important way for us to make a commitment to Zen practice.
Rev. Daigaku Rummé will give a series of classes on the precepts that will begin
on Thursday, March 27th. Each class will go from 7:30 – 8:45 p.m. It will run for
six consecutive Thursday evenings through May 1st. The cost will be $15 for Zenshuji
members and $40 for non-members. We will study various aspects of the sixteen Bodhisattva
precepts and have time to sit zazen as well.
If you are interested in participating, you can register by phone at 213-624-8658
or by email at email@example.com.
