O-Mimai Donation for Wildfire-Affected Zenshuji Members

Zenshuji would like to “Omimai” our members who have had their lives devastated by the

recent wildfires. As they have generously supported us through the years, it is now our turn

to help them recover from this catastrophic event. Zenshuji is currently accepting any monetary donations, to help them recover from the fire.

Omimai (お見舞い) is a Japanese word that means "to call on someone who is

ill or injured.” In Japanese tradition, in the face of tragedy, we offer support through words, actions, love, and deeds of empathy.

The recent fires consumed many homes, without warning, and displaced more than 130,000 people in Los Angeles County. Unfortunately, our member’s homes are included in these statistics, and we are making every effort to help them recover. Any contribution you can make to the Omimai Wildfire donation will be appreciated. Please write your checks to Zenshuji Soto Mission and note this is a “Omimai Wildfire donation”. Also, here is an option to donate using a credit card via PayPal using the blue “DONATE” button below.

We thank you in advance for your support. The funds collected for this Omimai will be judiciously distributed to the fire-impacted Zenshuji members who need our financial support for expenses that insurance, FEMA, or other government assistance do not cover.

And lastly, we express our greatest appreciation for the support of all our members, and especially those who are Firefighters who worked tirelessly to stop the progression of these catastrophic fires.
