APRIL & MAY 2020 EVENTS
CANCELLED EVENTS DUE TO CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)
Dear Zenshuji Members, Families, Friends and Community,
Zenshuji would like to “THANK” everyone for listening and following the guidelines of the CDC (Centers for Disease Control), Governor Newsom and Mayor Garcetti. You are very important to us and want you to take the precautions necessary for yourself and family.
With each passing day, the guidelines and mandates for the people of California keep changing. Currently we are under the “SAFER AT HOME” OR “STAY AT HOME” restrictions. Do not leave unless necessary. You may go to the Grocery Store, Pharmacy, Take Out Restaurants, or Work. We are thankful for those who are working at the Grocery Store, Gas Stations, Banks, Pharmacies, Restaurants, etc. and hope they will take the necessary steps to be safe.
Due to this stressful period, Zenshuji Ministers and Board of Directors have decided to ‘CANCEL ALL EVENTS AND ACTIVITES TIL FURTHER NOTICE! SOME NECESSARY APPOINTMENTS MAY HAPPEN BUT IT WILL BE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE MINISTERS. YOUR HEALTH AND WELL BEING IS IMPORTANT TO US!’
Zenshuji will remain open with at least 1 Minister available to answer calls, monitor the answer machine, return calls, respond to questions and give information as requested. Kojima Sensei has volunteered to be at the Temple most of the time and has released Rev. Toho and Rev. Miyazaki home to be with their families. Thank you Kojima Sensei for your leadership and guidance.
We would like everyone to continue their meditation, give blessings before and after meals, show compassion to those in need, support members who are alone, and yoga aerobics at home. We will keep you informed as new restrictions and information are available. Please stay in good health and take care of yourself during this challenging time.
In Gassho,
Howard Miyoshi, President
Carolyn Abe Hashiba, Chairperson of the Board of Directors
