November monthly service was held on November 21st in person and Online, Here is the video which was live-streamed on Facebook Live. Dharma talks were given by Rev. Doshin in
English and by Rev. Miyazaki in Japanese.
ZENSHUJI 100TH ANNIVERSARY FUND CAMPAIGN
Dear Members and Friends of Zenshuji Soto Mission,
It’s been a difficult and challenging past year but we are looking forward to the future with some normalcy, positive attitude and bright outlook to the future. We are elated to notify you of the celebration of Zenshuji’s 100th Anniversary in the fall of next year 2022. This letter is to announce the commencement of the 100th Anniversary capital campaign. Our goal is to reach $100,000 by August, 2022. Doing so will allow us to start and complete some of the major projects that will enable us to better serve our members and friends.
Zenshuji is grateful for your support and monetary donation at any time. We have received donations from Zenshuji members, clubs, organizations, and affiliations toward our goal. We thank you for helping us begin the road toward these special projects related to Wheelchair Access Ramp Relocation, Nokotsudo Expansion and other projects and events.
Zenshuji Soto Mission is a non-profit organization as described in 501(c)(3) of the federal income tax law. Donations may be made in lump sum, spread out in increments, or in one’s will or trust. Enclosed is a pledge form and stamped envelope for your convenience.
On behalf of the Board of Directors and Priests, we would like to express our sincerest appreciation and gratitude for your dedication and commitment to Zenshuji. Like during the 90th Anniversary we will reach the 100th Anniversary Goal together and “GAMBARIMASHO!”

SATURDAY TERAKOYA DANCE
Terakoya children perform at Keiro-kai luncheon every year, but since we did not have a in-person luncheon this year, Saturday Terakoya group made their performance video here. You can see them perform Bento-bako, Terakoya song, Tanko-bushi at the end in thier Yukata/Happi. Please enjoy.
100TH ANNIVERSARY LECTURE SERIES
MOCHITSUKI & MOCHI ORDER
This year, we will have the annual end-of-the-year Mochitsuki (mochi pounding) at Zenshuji on Sunday December 19th from 7am to 4 pm. We need a lot of muscle power to pound a lot of mochi rice. Please help us whenever you can. If you are
ordering mochi, please mail/bring in the mochi order form below
to the temple by December 7th. Every year we have people asking
to buy but they did not order. Remember, we order the mochi-
gome (mochi rice) by the order form counts. Please help us to
be more accurate.
One pound of small mochi - $7
Okasane-Mochi 1 set - $10
We also have Mochigome washing on Saturday, December 18th
from 8am. Please volunteer.
We are happy to announce that the Zazenkai is hosting Zenshuji 100th Anniversary A Series of Lectures and Conversations once a month starting this January to November. Please see the lecture series page below for more information.
