JAPAN TOUR - MAY 2017

 

We are happy to announce that Zenshuji is planning a Japan trip in May with the 65th Goeika national convention in Fukui prefecture. You will be visiting the Soto Zen head temples, Eiheiji and Sojiji besides sightseeing in Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara and Shiga.

HANAMATSURI & PANCAKE BREAKFAST

 

Zenshuji Hanamatsuri will be held on Sunday, April 9th at 11:00 am to celebrate Buddha’s birth. We will give out flowers after the service. In the morning we will serve Pancake Breakfast starting 8:30 am, $6 for the meal. Please check the flyer on the right for more detail. We are looking for volunteers to cook/serve the breakfast also.

 

This year the Hanamatsuri service by Los Angeles Buddhist Temple Federation (LABTF) will be held on Saturday April 8th from 1:00 pm in Little Tokyo.

HIGAN-E & BAKE SALE

 

Sunday, March 19, 2017 is our Spring O-Higan Service with the monthly memorial service. Higan literally means ‘the other shore’, the realm of enlightenment which can be reached by crossing over the sea by means of spiritual practice. This happens gradually by performing good deeds and accumulating good actions such as visiting the temple and family grave.

 

We will also sponsor our Spring Bake & Craft Sale.  Our bakers and crafters are always thinking of something that will please the members.  Come early and look to see what will make your taste buds happy and craft items to give as gifts or keep for yourself. All proceeds go to the temple general fund. We look forward to your attendance.
