A DAY OF ZAZEN: One Day of Sitting Meditation

     

The Zazenkai holds One Day sitting, “A Day of Zazen” almost every month. It will be from 7:10am to 4:40 pm, include 8 periods of zazen, a Dharma talk by Daigaku Sokan, breakfast, lunch and a question period. Please see the flyer for the dates and detailed schedule for 2014. Please email webmaster@zenshuji.org if you are planning to attend.

小島秀明先生による日本語坐禅講座

5月20日(火)より全四回(5/20 & 27,6/3 & 17)　夜七時半から九時まで

坐禅のやり方・禅の基本を初めての方にもわかりやすくお話しします。日々の喧噪からちょ っと離れて、自分を見つめる時間を作ってみませんか。坐禅・禅に興味のある方、どなたで もお気軽にご参加ください。ご寄付目安(四回分)：一般５０ドル、お寺会員２０ドル。（こ れは目安ですので無料でも受け付けます。）参加希望者は事前登録をwebmaster@zen shuji.orgまでEメールで、またはお電話にてご連絡ください。＊服装は地味でゆったりと したものを着用して下さい。短パン・スカート不可。装飾品・香水などは避けてください。

9:30am   Opening performance by Zendeko Taiko Drum Group

10:00       A lecture on Gasan Zenji by a priest from Daihonzan

                 Sojiji (In Japanese with English translation)

11:00       Main ceremony in honor of Gasan Zenji     

                   - Officiant: Director of the Publication Division at

                     Sotoshu Shumucho, Rev. Ryukan Sunakoshi Roshi

Noon       Ceremony especially for Zenshuji’s members and their

                 Ancestors: Kento Kuyo     - Officiant: Abbot of Kojin-an

                 Zendo, Rev. Gengo Akiba Roshi
