59TH ZENSHUJI OBON CARNIVAL - July 8th & 9th
Zenshuji Obon Carnival is coming soon. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year. We need everyone’s help to make this event a success. Please volunteer whenever you can. Thank you for your continuous support for Zenshuji. We will update the event schedule when available.
June 25 - Chochin Hanging/Garden Cleaning/Omigaki - 9 am
July 2 - Container Cleanup - 9 am
July 6 - Booth Construction - 5 pm
July 7 - Preparation - all day
July 8 & 9 Zenshuji Obon Carnival - all day
July 11 - Carnival Clean up - 5 pm
There are printed flyers at the temple office. Please take some
and distribute to shops and restaurants in your neighborhood.
No Zazen on June 25th, July 2nd, July 8th & 9th due to the Obon
and the preparation. Please join us for the Obon.
ZEN AEROBICS Class Continues
Thanks to the interest and support for Zenshuji’s new Zen Aerobics, the class is now scheduled to continue beyond its original ending date. Starting on May 7th, the class will continue for 38 Sundays from 3 to 5 pm.
Zen Aerobics: A Healthy Living Class is a program based on the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha. The goal of the class is to improve and maintain health and spiritual well being using the Shorinji Kempo self defense philosophy that the body and mind are one, 拳禅一如, Ken Zen Ichi Nyo. The students will be instructed 1) Body Strengthening exercises,
2) Spiritual exercises, 3) Relaxation techniques.
